Ask a Designer: Coastal Chic

This coastal chic home is  located on Davis Island and incorporates classically coastal interiors with transitional finishes and furniture selections for a calmingly cool one-of-a-kind home. We’ve been asked a ton of questions about this new construction luxury residential project and decided that we just had to share them with you on the blog!

“What are the exterior and trim colors? They totally remind me of Key West!”

All of our paint colors used for this project were from Benjamin Moore. The exterior paint color is AC-19: Homestead Green and the trim color is PM-1: Super White. For a brighter/snowier white trim, try CC-20: Decorators White!

“Can you please tell me who makes the wallcoverings used for the walls and ceiling?”

Both wallcoverings are part of the Glam Grass collection by Phillip Jeffries. The walls are Maldive Blue and the ceiling is Moroccan Sand. We definitely recommend using both of these grasscloth wallcoverings together to create a luxuriously relaxed vibe, especially for a master bedroom.

“I’m considering this look for my own bathroom. Is the design just painted or is it a paper?”

The wallpaper used was Romo’s Pinkerton wallcovering in Alpine from their Samsara collection.  Please note that we installed the paper horizontally, so you’ll have to apply it sideways.  We’re so glad you’re loving the look!

“Would you mind sharing the paint color that was used in this room? It’s lovely!”

The paint color is OC-11: Clay Beige by Benjamin Moore, a perfect color for adding your own pops of color with window treatments, throw pillows and decorative accessories!

“Love this beautiful light fixture! Could you please tell me more about it?”

The chandelier is from Oly Studio and is called the Serena Chandelier XL.  Each polished Capiz shell piece was added by hand with the help of the entire Studio M team and it’s one of our all-time favorites!

“What are the island and overhang dimensions in this kitchen? It’s perfect!”

This kitchen island is custom and was made to be exactly 10 feet wide with an overhang of 27 inches deep, which is great for entertaining friends and family while cooking at the same time.

“Where did you find the framed shell pictures? Can you buy them separately?”

These framed shell prints are from Trowbridge Gallery and were designed by Meridith Martens out of North Carolina, which you can view here. Feel free to give us a call and order them directly through us!

“This artwork is stunning! Care to share where the piece is from?”

We commissioned this piece by local artist Alberto Murillo. In fact, the homeowners love it so much that they had more commissioned for the rest of their homes and offices around the country! You can check out the rest of his work here.
