There’s something just amazingly clean and refreshing about an all white interior, and seeing one always seems to make me think that “Hey, I could do that, and it could look awesome!” Unfortunately though, reality sets in. In between my two dogs and too infrequent cleaning sessions, I could only imagine what my home would look like after a few months. Heck, some days I feel like I could literally make a mohair carpet out of the hair that those two shed everywhere.
I suppose those dog-less, definitely children-less homeowners are the only ones who could really pull off the “all white” look and keep it looking great all the time. Oh, and they’d for sure have to be OCD clean-freaks and probably even still need to hire a cleaning person. But hey, I ain’t hatin’! I think that white interiors bring a clean, modern and almost purified-feeling aesthetic to any room.
I really feel like all white could go well in any room, be it the bedroom, dining room or living room, but my favorite application for this look would be for the kitchen and bathrooms. White really just gives off a clean and hygienic impression in my opinion, so I feel like I can especially appreciate that style when it comes to food prep surfaces or the Lou.
There’s also tons of room for other fun colors, textures and materials as well when it comes to decorating with all white. If you have a white floor and white walls, any color you add will be sure to pop, not to mention art (I’m in love with that Roy Lichtenstein in the mostly white dining area above!) Likewise, everyday things like lemons on display in the kitchen or flowers in the foyer would be sure to grab the attention of not only your visitors, but I’m sure you yourself as well.
