Last weekend, a few friends and I took a short vacation to Puerto Rico in order to escape the cold and get plenty of sunshine. Not only did I get sunburnt and catch a cold on the airplane (happens to me every single time), it made me really wish that spring and summer would get here just a little bit faster. I personally hold the belief that if the weather is going to be in the freezing temps that we should be able to get at least a little bit of snow in the South! In honor of our lack of snowfall, I’ve decided to write today’s Color Crush post on what can also be considered to be the greatest base color of all time: snow white!
Ok, so if you’re into modern design or subscribe to magazines like Dwell or Elle Decor, then you’re probably already fairly familiar with the Scandinavian look that utilizes a great deal of white color for a spacious, light and airy vibe. I think that snow white shades are a great starting point and backdrop in a space, allowing you to add pops of color and texture as you go along. As an interior design lover, my favorite white rooms are those whose walls, ceiling and floor are white, which practically makes almost every shade of color pop.
Even though it’s only a matter of mere weeks until spring is finally here but I know once it’s boiling hot outside that I’ll be definitely missing my days of curling up with a blanket next to my trusty space heater. So what say you? Are you a fan of snowy white color, or could you see yourself feeling more at home with darker, more muted autumn tones? Feel free to share your thoughts with me on Twitter!
