Summer has officially been here for almost an entire month and even though it feels like it’s been hotter than hades since about April, I’ve been super inspired to spruce up my outdoor patio. Whether you’re living in a house with a backyard, a high rise condo with a balcony, or an apartment with a small patio, one of the quickest ways to give your outdoor space an instant makeover is by using string lights. By now I’m sure that you’ve seen them everywhere, but I felt that I absolutely needed to share these stunning spaces that pull off the trend perfectly!
Currently, I’m living in the upper unit of a downtown duplex and I’ve always loved checking out my surrounding neighbors’ outdoor spaces. People get very into their porches ’round these parts, especially in the early evenings. I got the itch to make a statement on my block, so I ran to Target to buy some simple vintage-looking bulb string lights and after a quick pit stop at our local plant nursery I was on my way home to put everything together! String lights couldn’t be easier and the ferns can take the harsh summer heat and (for the most-part) direct sunlight. The glowing bulbs absolutely complete the space and makes it feel much more cozy, especially when company is over. It’s my new favorite place to sit and have conversation over a bottle of vino!
You’ll be surprised at how much more welcoming an outdoor patio or backyard will look with a little bit of TLC and some string lights. In fact, I’ve already seen a few of my neighbors replicate my setup which totally affirms that I made the right decision. Although everyone is practically choking on the Southern heat and humidity, I’m excited to see more people embracing the string light trend and spending time outdoors!
