As of recently I’ve become pretty obsessed with tile design. Perhaps one of the most widely used types of flooring around the world, it always amazes me how many inspiring designs there are out there. From clean subway tile to intricate mosaics, I find it fascinating that an entire room can be completely transformed by finding the right balance of decoration and practicality. One tile design that I would say has always piqued my interest would be the hex tile. Let’s all take a moment to truly appreciate geometric splendor of the transitional hex tile!
Like I said before, I’d consider hex tiles to be one of the most perfectly transitional tile shapes ever. They’re basically like the chameleon of the tile design world because they’ll be a great choice regardless of whether your home is totally traditional or modern minimalist. The biggest factor in its versatility would be scale. I’m loving the large almost seamless ceramic hex tiles that create a more modern mood, but I’ve also long since been a fan of the traditional white penny-sized hex tiles. Both create a powerful statement in creating a beautiful bathroom floor or a cool kitchen backsplash than a paint color could ever provide to the space.
I’ve got to admit that I’ve pretty much fallen in love with the Cararra marble hex tile trend that seems to be so hot right now. If I owned my current home, I’d totally make sure that both bathrooms got a fresh marble hex tile makeover. I’m enjoying the polished sophistication of the look in a world of white subway tile or glass mosaic tile. If you think about it, hex tile is basically the gray of the design world since it goes amazingly with just about anything and everything!
