So, it’s a new year, which means all new fresh colors! In honor of Pantone’s “Color of the Year” , I wanted to showcase the beautiful hue of honeysuckle, a reddish pink saturated color! (Or more formally known as Pantone 18-2120) New year, new beginnings, new trends- I think this color perfectly sums up a fresh take on design. No more go-to turquoise (we loved you, and will probably revisit, but it’s time for a change)…let’s hit the completely opposite end of the spectrum!
You really can’t go wrong with a pink in my book. It’s universally flattering, makes you feel good, and adds energy to any room! Whether you decide to go all out with a honeysuckle wall (or 4!), or you’d just like to throw splashes here & there through throw pillows and accessories, I can guarantee that this hue will put a smile on your face and freshen up an otherwise “oh so last year” room!
Prepare yourselves, you are not only going to see this effervescent tone in interiors, but it is about to take over the runways as well! An instant pick-me-up, it is said that honeysuckle is better than coffee. “In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.” (www.pantone.com) So get out there and get tickled…honeysuckle pink that is! Happy [honeysuckle] Huesday!
