If you’re anything like me, you appreciate some great curb appeal when it comes to your home. There’s nothing quite like that happy feeling you get when you drive around the corner after a hard day’s work and see your cheerful abode waiting for to arrive. A little bit of effort goes a long way and switching up your front door’s paint color can make a huge impact on curb appeal. My current apartment has a bright red door with large modern house numbers and I can honestly say that it was love at first sight!
In my opinion, a happy and colorful front door is quite welcoming sets the tone for the entire rest of the house. Going with dark colors can exude a more sophisticated and sleek first, while lighter colors can personify a more playful and less serious attitude for both neighbors and guests. A great idea is to juxtapose old historic architecture and building exteriors with bright, bold and fun painted front doors.
Some super paint color options that stuck out to me while I was looking at different options around the web were deep blue and bright pink. Both colors exude a bold attitude when it comes to a home’s curb appeal, my favorite being historic buildings with this fresh, updated take on a centuries old style.
Personally, I believe that the outside of your home says a lot about who you are, whether you keep up with your lawn, maintain flowerbeds and landscaping, or having a front entry that expresses a welcoming vibe. If you’re living in a place that’s deed restricted to more traditional colors, try adding a festive wreath for different holidays throughout the year or sprucing up your stoop with fun planters. There are a million ways to create a colorful front door, and all it takes it just a little bit of creative inspiration!
