There are not too many activities that I enjoy more than travel. The thrill of getting on a plane and exploring somewhere new is so much fun and teaches you a lot. One of those lessons would be where things are located on a map. I can remember in middle school I actually asked what was on the other side of the map, not realizing it was just flattened out to show the whole world. Since then I’ve gotten my passport and visited some pretty fun places, and even gone on some pretty awesome adventures across the good ‘ole US of A. You might not be able to travel everywhere all the time (we’ve all got to work, can I get an amen?) but that doesn’t mean we can’t unleash the inner wanderlust freak throughout our homes to hold us over until our next adventure.
Whether you’re a travel junkie, obsessed with maps, or just need a good lesson in geography (I’ll admit it) then this sort of worldly décor sounds like the perfect option for your home interior. One of-a-kind items collected from different countries help to create an eclectic and global style, while world maps and globe décor capture the attention and jumpstart the imagination. I’m seriously going to have to invest in one of those canvases! How awesome are they?
I’d say my favorite pieces that incorporate world maps would have to be the oversized window shades and wallcoverings. There’s something about being able to see the whole world on one wall that reminds you how cool the Earth really is, and helps your inner-traveler to remind you of where you’ve been and where you’d still like to go. Another one of my favorite designs would have to be anything globe-related. Because who doesn’t enjoy a nice globe-spinning session every now and again?
