For those of you out there who are perpetually searching for the latest and greatest in bathroom ideas, from plumbing fixtures to lighting, tile, and accessories, I figured I just had to share my most recent bath design obsession: the console sink. Otherwise known as a washstand vanity, a console sink is the perfect addition for a glamorous powder bath or guest bathroom since they’re sleek, stylish, and are a vision of fashion meeting functionality. Although these beautiful vanities might be short on concealed storage space (these beauties let it all hang out!), you can find them with everything from polished, tapered legs to built-in open shelving underneath that’s just perfect for displaying and storing pristinely folded towels!
One of my best friends is designing her powder bathroom and when we went to our local plumbing showroom, I absolutely fell in love with a design by Kallista. A product range under the Kohler’s interiors division (alongside Ann Sacks, Baker Furniture, and McGuire Furniture) Kallista is known for their beautiful finishes and impeccable craftsmanship which many other companies try to replicate on their own. Unfortunately with Kallista’s quality comes their price point, so we were able to settle on a similar version by California Faucets which also create their own finishes right in the United States. I’m thinking brushed brass or polished nickel legs in a transitional shape with a dark blue/gray stone vanity top would look super stylish in her powder bath!
Whatever your style is, whether it’s modern industrial or totally traditional, these console sinks are a great option for keeping your bathroom looking sophisticated and simply bespoke. Now all that you need is a trusty toilet, beautiful mirror, a set of sconces, and fresh flowers in a vase to display and you’ve got yourself a fabulously designed bathroom to proudly display to all who visit!
