Home organization and fashion are two of my biggest pleasures in life and as crazy as it sounds, I see both as an art form. As I’ve said before, I may not be the cleanest “scrub the tub every week” type of people, but everything in my home definitely has a designated space. My closet is color coordinated and organized by garment type but, believe it or not, it’s really not that hard once you get everything right the first time. Once I use a shirt, there’s an empty hanger in its place, then once the laundry is done you simply place it back in the empty spot in your closet! Although, no matter how organized my closet is, I could desperately use more walk-in closet space.
Last week I decided to do a clean sweep of items that I never really wear anymore to make more room for my wardrobe and I must’ve given away 20 pairs of jeans, countless shirts, and tons of old shoes. Not only did it feel good to think about the homeless walking around in Diesel jeans and D&G sweaters (not kidding!) it was also nice to have a more streamlined look to my collection.
One of these days, I’m definitely making it a top priority to have a humongous walk-in closet with natural lighting (which is really hard to find), ample storage and compartments for everything, and great built-ins with beautiful finishes. Until then I’ll just have to settle with what I’ve got (I’m making it work) and drool over these beautifully designed wardrobes (I have a whole “closet inspiration” folder on my desktop). Here’s a few of the latest lustworthy additions to my collection.
Which walk-in closet design is your favorite? I’m in love with the white built-ins!
