“Saturday, in the park…you’d think it was the Fourth of July”

So the grill is getting fired up, the lemonade is in the pitcher, and the apple pie is in the oven—I am so ready for the Fourth of July! With all the Independence Day fever going around…I wanted to share some perfectly patriotic interiors. Even in this tropical Florida weather- we can incorporate some coastal elements into the red, white & blue look by throwing in coral in place of red (as seen in the photo below). It’s a great way to celebrate the holiday while embracing a coastal chic look all the while. Say goodbye to the 4th of July chotskies (dried red, white, & blue flowers= permanently banned) there IS such a thing as sophisticated red, white, & blue rooms. Let’s take a moment to salute this fabulous country (and these fabulous rooms).

I never thought I’d see the day when patriotic rooms became a trend- but what do you know? The Union Jack flag is everywhere right now and I’m loving it. There’s a proud nostalgic feel to the flag- it’s great on throw pillows, artwork, or even bold banners like this one from the Halo showroom we saw at High Point Market this year. (Above)

How fabulous are these photos of the White House “Blue Room”? Can’t get much more patriotic. I would die for that round ottoman bench- so glamorous. (Photos via NY Library)

  1. I love the tribute, without the tackiness! I agree with you about the round Ottoman bench… Happy 4th!
