After having lived a solid year in a place with the tiniest bathrooms known to man, I can really appreciate the importance of having a bathroom with plenty of room. I rarely ever soak in a bathtub but I really love having the option of either ta king a refreshing shower or relaxing bath, especially if it’s in a nice really bathroom. In fact, I fell in love with the idea of having a freestanding tub in the bathroom while celebrating my 21st birthday a few years ago at the Aria in Las Vegas. The relaxing vibe of a lone soaking tub was all that I needed to experience to add it to my future “must-have” home list!
If I really think about it, I’m pretty sure that it’s safe to say that I’ve only ever used a freestanding tub a handful of times in my whole life. Nowadays, homebuyers are wanting to see larger bathroom suites with both walk-in showers and freestanding tubs to create a relaxing, spa-like environment that encourages more than just bathing or getting ready. In fact, loving one’s bathroom seems like it would be just as important as appreciating the bedroom or kitchen area since a lot of time is spent in this area throughout the course of the week.
I’m not even going to lie, I could totally appreciate a fabulously modern freestanding tubs once I have my own place and design my own master bathroom suite. If it were up to me, every home would skip the shower/bathtub combo in favor of a freestanding tub and walk-in shower. From modern stainless steel versions to traditional claw foot porcelain tubs, I believe that all luxury new construction homes should be built with at least one freestanding tub in the place. Here are a few of my absolutely favorite looks that have my feeling major bathtub envy! Feel free to share your thoughts with me on Twitter!
